Gamers Give Back

The Speed Gamers

TheSpeedGamers was founded by Britt LaRivere in the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas. One day Britt and a few of his friends decided to have a weekend gaming marathon for fun, like most of us do on our spare weekends, when an idea was formed. “Why not do stream it live?” he wondered. Soon after, they turned that live stream into a charity event. This is how TSG was formed.

Since that first marathon in March 2008, TSG has expanded to include members from around the world, and went on to do multiple marathons for a myriad of charities and causes, including St. Jude, Susan G. Komen, ACT Today, and Ally’s House. They have proven that gamers can do more then just play games, they can also help save or better the lives of others. If you’d like to see how much money they’ve raised for charities, please visit their Past Marathons page. Click here to check out a video explaining more about the group!

Child’s Play

Since 2003, Child’s Play has set up and organized this wonderful game industry charity dedicated to improving the lives of children with toys and games in our network of over 60 hospitals worldwide. In five short years, many have come together to raise millions of dollars. Check out their website to find out how you can help!

If anyone else knows of another gaming charity, please message me and I’ll add them to the page! :)
