Is Apple Developing A Game Controller?

That would certainly make gaming on iPads a lot more fun.

This rumor came about from a quote in an iPad 3 review from Anandtech.com: “I know of an internal Apple project to bring a physical controller to market, but whether or not it will ever see the light of day remains to be seen.”

This isn’t too shocking - it would be the next logical step for Apple because it would make gaming on a touch-only device a lot easier. Hope this rumor becomes a reality!

My friend posted this as his status on Facebook…pretty clever whoever made it, I guess as a statement to people being all like “What?? When did this happen?? How???” It is true, you could basically Google anything you want and find out what you need…

Being the richest man in the cemetery doesn’t matter to me. Going to bed at night saying we’ve done something wonderful…that’s what matters to me.

R.I.P. Steve Jobs ♥

Poor guy was only 56…kind of crazy he died right after the new iPhone was announced, lived long enough to see it go before passing.

His legacy will continue to live on in his company and the amazing products they make, like my iPhone. :)

NO WAY!!!

A collection of tweets from Apple employees as they got the news Steve Jobs, their visionary, beloved—and sometimes feared—CEO, was resigning.

Apple Unveils iPad 2

Apple has just revealed the iPad 2, along with a ton of information about the new device during the company’s iPad 2 announcement.

Here are the main talking points for the iPad 2:

  • The iPad 2 is lighter, coming in at 1.3 pounds versus the original’s 1.5 pounds
  • It’s also 33% thinner: the device is just 8.8mm, compared to the iPad’s 13.4mm width, and the iPhone 4’s 9.3mm width.
  • The iPad 2 will feature rear and front cameras for video
  • It’s packing a new A5 chip, which features a 2X CPU, and allows for 9X faster graphics
  • The new chip won’t hurt battery life: It will feature a 10 hour battery life, and a month of standby.
  • The iPad 2 will be the exact same price as the original iPad
  • The device will ship on March 11, and be available in over 26 countries by March 25.

Apple has also revealed what it’s calling a “smart cover,” a magnetic cover that will auto-align to the front of the iPad 2, and will automatically put the device into sleep mode when it’s attached, and wake it up when you take the cover off. Apple will also be selling a $39 connector, which will allow support 1080p video output via HDMI, and will allow you to charge the pad while using it. The connector will support every app, as well as rotation. All in all is should be enough to make every iPad owner green with envy/Hulk rage.

Is Apple Planning A Game Streaming Service?

Apple may be moving into the television gaming business. An Internet tech-head at Engadget noticed some code in the beta of Apple’s iOS 4.3 3 firmware seem to suggest Apple plans to move into bringing games to your television.

According to Engadget:

"Several references have been found pertaining to ‘ATVGames’ and ‘ATVThunder’ that point to a controller of some sort, leaderboards (think Game Center), a way to schedule games (multiplayer?), and a store front (think App Store, iTunes)."

The code suggests to Engadget that Apple TV may be posisitioned as a game-streaming service, not dissimiallr to OnLive.

It’s not the most solid evidence of all, but when you combine the facts with a little speculation and some logic, Apple getting into gaming seems pretty plausible. After all, if they combined the current Apple app store with Apple TV and a controller, there would be an instant library of thousands and thousands of games available on launch day to the Apple faithful, and who wouldn’t want to make that much money?

What do you think? Is an Apple TV powered gaming streaming service in the works?
